Goodbye Japan

It's my last day here. I'll miss Sapporo like crazy and I'm going to miss all of the wonderful people I've met here.

Tackey Concert

Hot damn it was fun. And so cute.

Tackey was great but he really let Snowman steal the show. Snowman was so energetic and playful but still hot-sexy-cool. They have officially shot up my bias list.

Also, Sakuma got a lot of love in Sapporo.

Next week is Tackey's concert.

I've always thought of myself as a person that has a hard time making friends. But the truth is that making friends is the easy part. The hard stuff is learning how to be a friend and to put in some effort in order to stay friends.

Lending an ear, giving encouragement, fighting a bit and working through the differences.

It's not always easy or sensible, but friendship is good crazy.

That's what I strive for.

We need to talk about Kevin

I was looking forward to this movie but once I finally did sit down to watch it at the theater, I felt underwhelmed.

Great performances by the cast but there was just something about the pace and the storytelling that didn't gel. I left the theater cold. Not out of fear or horror. Just detached.

Jump concert

I went to their concert last night. I'm not too familiar with their songs but I love Keito and Yuto's pretty awesome too.

Keito is even more adorably awkward than I imagined. Every time he was asked a question, there would either be a short response or an awkward pause that the others would scramble to fill.

Yuto was amazingly energetic despite it being the second show of the day. He's so cute and dorky and really should be cloned.

Honorable mention to Yamada for his super cheesy pickup lines and the way that most of the audience squealed in response. So greasy.

Yuya and Hikaru were a meter from me at one point but...meh. They seemed out of it. I really wanted it to be Keito or Yuto. Even the adorable Daiki would have been great.

This was my first Johnny's concert and it was quite the experience.

Sprout Drama

I almost watched you. And then, because of airing complications, I couldn't. I got bored so I looked up the credits.

Matsuda Yuko.

MATSUDA freaking YUKO again as a Johnny's screenwriter.

Let me just facepalm for a few minutes. This woman is an atrocious writer whose selling power just won't die.

I'm afraid to see what she does to Sprout. She must be tired after typing away for the script mess that was Bakaleya.

But then again, maybe she'll do what she did for Gokusen 1, 2 and everything that came afterwards: find and replace names. Done.

Since Sprout is a manga adaptation, she might just be kind and go word for word. I can only hope to trust in her creativity.

Just came back from the movie theater. I saw the trailer for Signal yesterday and thought that it might be creepy fun. Nissy and Kengo were also acting in the film so I couldn't NOT go.

Our love triangle consists of the cheerful and lovestruck Keisuke (Nissy), the enigmatic Ruka (Azusa), and the obsessive Reiji (Kengo).

The setting takes place in an old movie theater. Keisuke, a college student, decides to work at the movie theater. The manager tells him that there are three rules he must follow.

1. Do not ask the owner about her injuries.
2. Do not ask about her personal problems.
3. Do not start a relationship with her.

Keisuke is dumbstruck when he meets the owner of the theater: she's his age, maybe younger and she's beautiful.

The storytelling is not strong, but I loved the incorporation of old film and how the theater tied Keisuke and Ruka together. Their scenes together, though muted by Ruka's lack of emotion, are buoyed by the warm colors and security of the theater.
